Phoenix Art Museum

The Phoenix Art Museum is a world-class institution that has been open for 60 years. They host comprehensive collections and exhibitions, as well as opportunities to learn about art history through meaningful moments in their galleries. In fewer than two centuries since its founding, the PAM’s collection now spans more than 6 million objects, from master paintings by masters such as Van Gogh or Picasso, to rare sculptures dating back thousands of millennia ago, all ensuring there will always be something new whenever you visit this historic site.

As the largest art museum in Arizona, the Phoenix Art Museum is home to more than 20 thousand objects and engages 300 thousand guests each year, both within our walls and through multidimensional community programs.

Situated at 1625 North Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004, the Phoenix Art Museum is home to more than 20,000 works in the public trust created by artists today throughout history. Whether you’re looking at one specific piece or an entire exhibition highlighting different periods and cultures around our world, each object has been chosen because it can transform how we see ourselves by showing what people were thinking through their actions centuries ago while also illuminating things nearby.

The collection in this museum is one-of-a-kind. It features objects in nine collecting areas, including American and Western art from across the world, as well as Latin American paintings that span centuries; we even have some Asian pieces for you to enjoy. The museum also offers modern-day European classics with our Contemporary Galleries, plus there are always new additions coming every month.

The Phoenix Art Museum is a place where you can explore art from all over the world and experience new perspectives on familiar favorites. We have exhibitions planned for this year that will take us through time, space, cultures, and even genres. Check out what’s happening at this iconic museum today before it ends up in someone else’s gallery tomorrow-you might find your favorite piece right there, waiting just around the corner.

The Free Arts of Arizona is pleased to introduce you to the artwork created by community artists through our partnership with them and programs that support adults living with dementia. Community members collaborate on original, expressive works that represent diverse perspectives and shared experiences within a larger population. The agency has partnered up brilliantly across barriers and age groups so everyone can share their stories through painting or drawing something meaningful for each other, all while learning about one another’s life circumstances.
