Missouri Botanical Garden

Strategically located at 4344 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63110, The Missouri Botanical Garden, also known as Shaw’s Garden after its founder Henry Shaw, is an internationally acclaimed arboretum that has been operating for more than 150 years. One of the first botanical parks in America was established here, and it still stands as one of the most historic gardens in our nation’s history. Henry Shaw, the first person to establish a botanical garden in America and also its founder, is known as one of St. Louis’ most famous citizens because he not only helped create this beautiful place but gave it so much life with his own innovations, like plant sales for money, which became popular around the 1800s.

The beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the most famous gardens in America, established back in 1859. It features all sorts of things for you and your family to enjoy, like gorgeous flower beds or even botanical glass paintings. The iconic Missouri Botanical Garden is a place where you can explore nature and learn more about it. They have an extensive collection of plants, both living in their natural habitats or inside demonstration gardens. If that weren’t enough, there are also formal flowerbeds for elegant photographs alongside gorgeous horticultural displays, which will make your mouth water with inspiration as soon as you glance at them.

Shaw’s marvelous vision has not gone to waste as the Missouri Botanical Garden continues with his work. The garden was originally created for adults and kids who want to explore its grounds; it includes Tower Grove House, where Shaw lived out his days before passing away here at home among friends he considered family—even though they weren’t blood relations, nor did any live nearby then (aside from one sister). There’s also a Japanese-styled area with many types of plants, including lotus flowers, which are typically found far away from waterways but thrive beautifully throughout America.

This garden has much to offer visitors. One of these items is the Climatron, which houses a collection that’s designed for children and their families in mind. The first thing you will see when walking around this garden is a Climatron, which houses plants that can survive in harsh environments. Then there’s the Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden with its play area and miniature golf course.

Visitors to this venue will find that it has something for everyone. Some previous visitors said feeding the koi fish in the Japanese garden and admiring Chihuly glass sculptures throughout the property were highlights of their trips, while others recommended enjoying a picnic lunch (during warmer months) or taking a light tour around Christmas time.
