The beautiful Denver Botanic Gardens is a wonderful place to visit in the heart of Denver, CO. The 23-acre (93,000 m2) park contains many beautiful flowers and plants that you’ll find nowhere else. You can explore various themes of gardens- like illusion garden, in which illusion creates an otherworldly atmosphere perfect for photos or meditation. The beautiful Denver Botanic Gardens is a public botanical garden located in the heart of Colorado with a varied collection that ranges from tropical plants to medicinal herbs. The park contains both indoor rooms for viewing specimens as well outdoor areas like this gorgeous sunken amphitheater which hosts various concerts throughout the summer months.
Denver Botanic Gardens is home to three different locations that all have their own distinct features. The main garden, located in east-central Denver on York Street near Massachusetts Ave., has formal flower beds and paths for walking among the plants; it’s also where you’ll find historic buildings from around Colorado like those at Chatfield State Park or Mt Goliath Albanian Church graveyard which dates back as far as 1891.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is not only home to North America’s largest collection of plants from cold temperate climates around the world but also home to 7 diverse gardens that mostly include flowers and vegetables grown in Colorado or neighboring states. The Dryland Mesa Demonstration Garden in the botanic garden is the world’s first xeriscape demonstration garden. It was created for people who want to learn about water-saving plant varieties, and it includes plants from both arid West Coast regions as well as Mediterranean areas that can withstand long periods without rain.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is a beautiful place to visit. Not only does it boast the first conservatory in America that was made entirely of concrete and Plexiglas panes, each designed so condensation can run towards sides walls without dripping on visitors, but they also were awarded landmark status.
One of Denver’s most beautiful parks is also its first-ever green roof. The York Street location opened up to the public in 2015, and it features an impressive Japanese Garden. The Japanese Garden in Denver Botanic Gardens is called Shofu-en—the Garden of Wind and Pines. It was designed by Koichi Kawana with collaboration from Kai Kwahara. The York Street location opened up an exciting new green space for residents to explore.
In 2020, the Gardens published their first book. Firsthand: Creating Gardens for All People was commissioned by CEO Brian Vogt and researched with Karen Peters Davis Benson and Dan Obarski, who won an Independent Book Publishers Association Benjamin Franklin Silver Award in 2021 as well.
