Belen

A group of Spanish colonists established Belen in the 1740s. It had grown into a town by the end of the 1700s. Sheep herding and farming were popular locally. The Catholic church, which was established in 1793 and is still standing today, is one of the most interesting places to visit in Belen. Its liturgy has remained unchanged over the centuries. Famous figures including Rankin, Beker, and Dallies have streets named after them in Belen. Belen now has a population of several thousand people and is home to a number of well-known businesses, including the BSNF. Belen provides several career opportunities for the younger generation, and farming remains an important occupation in the city.

In Belen, which is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the world’s largest Matanzas is held. It is a Spanish communal ritual in which family and friends meet together. Pigs are prepared as a feast for each and every member. This is an event where Mexicans can show off their ability to take pork to new heights. The dinner for the people to commemorate this tradition is being prepared by twenty different teams. It’s a fantastic event where a large number of people join together to work toward a common goal: to feed your face. This feast is well-known not just for its delicious food, but also for the entertainment it provides.

Belen is also known as the ‘Hub City.’ The city is located near the geographic centre of New Mexico and serves as a major transportation hub for central New Mexico, with rail, interstate highway, and air service provided by Valencia County’s only public airport.

The Belen Hotel and the Central Hotel, both on Becker Avenue, were constructed in the early 1900s to house railroaders as well as other rail passengers. The Belen Hotel is now a private residence and art gallery, whereas the Central Hotel has been remodeled to feature a private apartment upstairs with a wine tasting area, and also an event space and ballroom downstairs.

The BNSF rail yard is only a few feet away from the Belen Harvey House. It is a two-story structure.

The Onate Theater, on Dalies Avenue, was constructed in the early 1920s and used to screen many of the biggest box office hits. Three other historic structures are located on the same block as the theater.

Belen is a wonderful small town to call home. It’s a pleasant place to raise a family, and the city is incredibly tranquil and quiet, making it suitable for the retirees to spend their time in the surrounded by the calmness of the region. Due to the absence of business, there are a plethora of chances and experiences available in the town. Belen is a place where many people grow up and eventually decide to build their own families as it is hard to leave such a quite city and move on to any other place which is trapped in the rush of the industries.
